News:

Alice Cooke Sinclair  Former President of WGAWNY
Pittsford, NY: Saturday, December 24, 2022 at age 84. Alice is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Chathan and Takako, and sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Warren King. Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Sinclair and Elisabeth Blagdon, and her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Samuel Morse. Alice received a bachelors degree from William & Mary. She married Douglas Sinclair, her high school sweetheart from Concord, Massachusetts, and started a family. Douglas, following professorship at UR Institute of Optics, founded Sinclair Optics in 1976 to develop optical design software programs. Alice served as Vice President. Each were dearly loved parents. They spent many hours with family including playing tennis, extensive U.S. travel, hiking in the Sierras and Rockies, sailing on Lake Ontario. Alice and Doug both enjoyed the friendships and sport of golf, in New York and Florida. She was a Past President of the Women’s Golf Association of Western New York. Throughout adulthood, Alice was an owner and trainer of Shetland Sheepdogs. An occasion for remembrance will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Sinclair Fund for Early Childhood Education at the Rochester Community Foundation: https://racf.org/sinclair
